As some of you may already know every couple of years I pull together a calendar to raise money for Cancer Research Uk
Over the years I have had the privilege of working with some fabulous people, some of whom have been or are on their cancer journey. I am always humbled by the strength of those affected and the courage and positive drive they have.
This year I have chosen to raise awareness of breast cancer, as it has been bought home to me recently by two of my closest friends going through and I too had recently the scare of finding a lump. For me it was good news however for some its not such good news.
Boob Art is this years calendar and for this I had the help of local Fine Art Artist/Illustrator Abbey Stevens a local teacher from Solihull.
I presented Abby with my ideas, along with my rough sketches of designs I was hoping to achieve and together we came up with 14 designs above and Abbey set about painting each of our models, both male & female. Because YES men can get breast cancer too, something that I didn’t know, in fact I believe every other day a man is diagnosed with some form of breast cancer!
Once the designs were painted, I then photographed our models and digitally enhanced each image to make a piece of artwork.
Well even it I say so myself the images turned out fabulous and I am now please to say we are launching the calendar on Friday 18th October 2019 in conjunction with Turn it Pink for breast cancer awareness month
The calendars cost £10.00 with 100% of the monies from the sale going to Cancer Research UK as the printing costs have kindly been met by our Sponsors;
